Our Kalonji is grown by local horticulturists in the Punjab Province of Pakistan. Our horticulturist has a distinct passion for growing heritage seeds to preserve the purity, and integrity, of natural regenerative farming. Distinct care is given to the selection of seeds provided to the farmers for planting, the growing practices, the cleaning and processing of the final product, and the spice itself.
This beautiful seed is often mistaken for black cumin. In actuality, a seed from a flowering buttercup plant and is known scientifically as Nigella Sativa. It is a savory seed reminiscent of onion seeds for its crunch and pungent flavor.
Suggested Pairing: curries, avocado, salads, honey, oatmeal, smoothies, turmeric, cardamom, coriander, saffron
Use: 1 tsp of seed to soak in a glass of water. Drink over the course of the day and continually add room temperature water. The seeds can also be taken orally and washed down with tea or water.
